Death Penalty

UT-Arlington Theatre Arts will be performing Dead Man Walking by Tim Robbins at the end of the month. Our illustration class was assigned a project to create posters to go along with the play.
Here is my take on the death penalty.

I decided to focus on the family of the victims of the crime and was moved by a story on CNN about a home invasion.
The man’s family was murdered. “My family got the death penalty, and you want to give murderes life. That is not justice” he said.
These words were powerful. I did not want a lot of fluff in this illustration. I wanted the words to convey the message.
